About Us

The Intelligent Systems and Automation Laboratory (ISAL) focuses on the study of mechatronics. This encompasses programs and projects involved with the application of microprocessors and sensors to advanced electromechanical systems. Major programs have involved computer integrated manufacturing, augmented telerobotics, manufacturing knowledge-based systems, path planning for mobile robots and biped robotic walking. ISAL is often involved in technology transfer with regional industry through cooperative efforts involving personnel, financial, and expertise from the laboratory, industry and government
